What is the best day tour from Tromsø?

It depends on the month. From November to January whale watching is the one you can't do later in the winter; otherwise husky sledding, reindeer and Sámi culture, and an evening aurora chase are the most popular.

How much do tours in Tromsø cost?

Most day tours cost 1150-3400 NOK per adult (checked November 2026). Fjord cruises start around 1150 NOK, reindeer tours around 2095 NOK, snowmobile around 2590 NOK and a husky passenger ride 3390 NOK.

Can you do a day trip to Senja from Tromsø in winter?

It is a very long day. Driving yourself is discouraged in winter; the Arctic Route bus runs daily December to March from 750 NOK, or you can take the express boat to Finnsnes and join a local tour.

Can you combine a day tour and a northern lights tour on the same day?

Yes, with half-day tours such as reindeer or husky rides, which are back in the afternoon. After a full-day whale or snowmobile trip, an evening chase makes a very long day.

Do Tromsø tours run if the weather is bad?

Many do, but boats, ferries and snowmobile tours can be cancelled in storms. If the operator cancels, you are offered another date or a refund.
